Vanley Hughley

On December 1, 2016, we lost our beloved Vanley Dora Hughley (aka Becky) to illness. Becky was born on April 29,1952 at Nyack Hospital and is survived by her mother, Henrietta Franklin of Nyack, NY, her husband, Freeman Hughley of New Windsor, NY, and her two sons, Emanuel Brownlee of Cookville, TN, and Freeman Lamar Hughley of Washingtonville, NY. Becky is predeceased by her father, Bradford Downing, Sr., and her sister, Cathy Barley. Becky also leaves behind her granddaughter, Nola Sofia-Dora Hughley, one Aunt Lula Franklin, one Uncle Arthur Vay Downing, two sisters, Gwendolyn Downing and Katherine Sisco-Downing, four brothers; Bradford Downing, Jr., Arthur Downing, Robert Downing, and Harold Downing, as well as a host of others, including nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, a daughter-in-law-to-be, and dear friends. Becky retired from Hudson Valley DDSO after 34 years and is known as an aide whom cared for people. She constantly gave to charitable nonprofits and anyone in need. Her love of music and the outdoors, her spoiled dogs, and her blunt sense of humor will forever be in remembrance and deeply missed.Honoring her requests, services will be short.
