Lillian Lovecchio

Lillian Lovecchio of E. Stroudsburg died on Saturday October 22, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis A. Lovecchio M.D., deceased May, 2006. Mother of the late David E. Lovecchio, deceased November, 2002. Daughter of the late Sophia and Peter Grivner of Wilkes-Barre. Sister of the late William Grivner, the late Eleanore Grivner, and the late Dorothy Mooney. Graduate of G.A.R high school and also attended Wilkes- Barre Business School and East Stroudsburg University and TOALC classes. Former buyer for Lazarus in Wilkes-Barre and Lit Brothers and Gimbles in Philadelphia. Past president of Monroe County Medical Society Auxiliary, first president of the Mother's Club of Notre Dame High School (ES), past president of the Italian Mutual Club Auxiliary, past president of the Glen Brook Women's Golf Association, past treasurer for the Women's Golf Association. Lillian was an avid golfer and member of many golf associations including Glen Brook, Shawnee, Delaware Water Gap, and Sky Top Country Club. Lil also played in many bridge clubs, was a member of the Torch Club, Alter Rosary Society, Pocono Medical Auxiliary, Elks Club, Sky Top Club, and Italian Women's Association and member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. Lillian also did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels, organized many golf tournaments, and many fund raisers for Notre Dame High School sports and the Exchange Club. Lillian is survived by her brother Raymond Grivner and wife Dottie of Nanticoke, PA, her sister Marie Keegan of Ashley, PA, and sister Patricia Judge of Mountain Top, PA. Lillian is also survived by her children Nicholas and Mary Ellen Lovecchio, Marc and Angela Lovecchio, Francis jr. (Toby) and Cathy Lovecchio, Jill Marie Lovecchio, and Christian and Bradi Lovecchio, and her grandchildren Nicole, Sarah(Dave), Nora(Pat), Francis, Peter, Louise, Matthew, Lydia, Henry, Anne Marie, Noah, Addison, and Lillian, and her great grandchildren Amelia, William, Mae, and Benjamin. Lillian adored her beloved high school sweetheart and husband of 51 years and loved her children and grandchildren for they all have brought her so much love and happiness. Lillian's favorite daughter is Jill, her favorite son is all 5 of them, her favorite daughter in law is all 4 of them, her favorite grandchild is all 13 of them, and her favorite great grandchild is all 4 of them. Lillian had many great times golfing with her family at over 150 golf courses and snow skiing in various places. She also had many great times at their Lake House on Lake Wallenpaupack. Lillian loved people and had many good friends from all over. Lil's purpose in life was always to be a good and loving wife and a good and loving mother and grandparent and a loyal friend to all, and a good Christian human being. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 29, 2016 at 10:00am from St. Matthews Catholic Church 200 Brodhead Ave. E. Stroudsburg with Fr. Gerald W. Shantillo as celebrant. Entombment will be in the Mountain Laurel Mausoleum at Laurelwood Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Friday October 28, 2016 from 4-8:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360 In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Matthews Catholic Church 200 Brodhead Ave. E. Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301.
